Job summary

Lake Region Trailer is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team. You will fabricate, weld, assemble and repair metal components according to drawings and production specs.

The ideal candidate will work safely, take pride in craftsmanship, and contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:00–3:30 pm.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years welding and fabrication experience or a welding certificate/degree from a technical or vocational school.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Proficiency using fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core) to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
  • Measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble metal materials using fabrication equipment and hand tools.
  • Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, customer specifications, and structural requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures, properly use PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with production team members to meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Assist with custom fabrication projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and other production-related duties as assigned.

In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, weld, and repair metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and production specifications. Primary Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of welding and fabrication experience or a welding certificate/degree from a technical or vocational school
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
  • Proficiency using fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform accurate layout, fitting, and fabrication work
  • Knowledge of metal properties, materials, and fabrication methods
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as a member of a team
  • Effective communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical school, vocational training, or certification in welding, fabrication, metalworking, or a related field
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment and reading blueprints
