Qualifications

  • Experience performing manual and mechanized FCAW welding.
  • Ability to read instructions, drawings and specs to determine welding needs.
  • Set up and operate preheating equipment and weld positioners.
  • Capability to handle materials with cranes or hoists safely.
  • Commitment to maintaining PPE and safety standards on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and mechanized welding using FCAW in various positions.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Set up and operate preheating equipment, weld positioners, and material handling equipment.
  • Position and secure weldments using hitching and material handling techniques.
  • Execute single and multi-pass fillet and groove welds in all positions.
  • Perform air carbon arc gouging and post-weld finishing as required.
  • Inspect welds for size, appearance and quality; repair as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow PPE procedures.
  • Routinely maintain welding equipment and assist in drawing/procedure fixes.

Job Overview

The Welder Dwill contribute to the production of high-quality weldments using manual and mechanized welding techniques. This role will be responsible for setting up and operating various welding equipment, handling materials, and ensuring welds meet quality standards. Key Job Responsibilities

Perform manual and mechanized welding using FCAW process in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical).

Read and interpretwork instructions, drawings, and specificationsto determine welding requirements.

Set up and operatepreheating equipment, weld positioners, and material handling equipmentsuch as jib hoists, cranes, and forklifts.

Position and secure weldments using appropriatehitching and material handling techniques.

Executesingle and multiple pass fillet and groove weldsin all positions, including confined spaces and extended reach areas.
