The Opportunity

CAA has need to add an experienced Welder / Fabricator to its technical team in Albuquerque, NM. This position requires travel in the continental United States for various projects.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for mechanical component fabrication.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable processes and standards covering parts machining, welding, design, and fabrication.
  • Interface with Mechanical Engineers and Designers on fabrication methods and processes.
  • Perform manual tasks such as rust treatment, painting, materials removal, metal grinding, cutting and the application of various solutions.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and work instructions, follow work orders, and assist with preparation of reports and appropriate documentation to include following test procedures and recording results.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Possess proven problem‑solving skills and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Use of basic powered and hand tools will be required.
  • May be asked to lead a small project team, provide guidance and assistance to new or entry‑level employees.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • GTAW / TIG welding, GMAW / MIG Welding
    • Machine Shop Equipment Operations
    • Fabrication Shop Machinist
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.
    • Vocational or technical education in addition to related work experience is a plus.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel.
    • Physical abilities include use of arms, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment; standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
    • Able to focus on items less than 20 inches away (corrected or uncorrected), see in three dimensions and distinguish all colors.

    • AWS certification for various metals
    • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Pay Range

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.

Minimum Required Hourly Wage

$22.11
