This hands‑on role requires advanced proficiency across multiple welding processes, precision layout and shop mathematics, use of specialized welding and sheet‑metal equipment, and on‑site evaluation of structural damage and repair requirements. The Welder will also maintain accurate work‑order documentation and provide qualified backup support to machining and sheet‑metal fabrication operations as needed.

    • Prepare welding surfaces; set up clamp fixtures and devise special jigs and fixtures
    • Visiting worksites to analyze, evaluate, and classify structural sheet metal damage; adjust job layout based on on‑site inspection; compute irregular curves, angles, and pitch with complicated shop mathematics; determine materials, tools, and equipment
    • Develop patterns and cut, form, join, assemble, and install items with combined straight/curved edges and irregular angles; apply radial‑line and parallel‑line development; fabricate dovetailed, set‑in‑bottom, burred‑bottom, wire, and lock seams; fabricate templates
