Job description

Overview: Plans, lays out, assembles, installs metal parts, equipment, and products according to company specifications and blueprints. The position requires a wide range of welding skills, including light tacking to heavy flat, up weld, and overhead weld according to ASME Codes. Operate various power tools such as saws, grinders, drills, welders, and overhead cranes. Must comply with safety policies, keep the work area clean, and perform duties satisfactorily. Other related duties as assigned. Must pass 6g and 3g tests.

Essential Job Functions
  • Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all safety procedures and maintaining equipment.
  • Pass the ASME Vessel Code Weld test.
  • Experience fitting and welding pressurized vessels and pipes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mig and Stick welding operations.
  • Proficient in short arc, spray arc, and torch use.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment.
  • Read and work from plans, sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Support manufacturing engineering on improvement projects.
  • Support Lean and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain a safe environment.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Work flexible hours as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma, equivalent, or two years related experience.
  • Pass 3G plate and 6G pipe welding tests.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Reside within 50 miles of the facility; no relocation benefits offered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of related work experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, climb, and use ladders.
  • Full mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Repeat motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Work in various climate conditions.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull 100 pounds safely.
  • Vision abilities: close, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
  • Meet post-offer testing requirements.
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and maintenance.
