Job summary

InterCon Construction, Inc. seeks a Welder to join a crew and weld gas pipe, including service tees and tie-ins, on Wisconsin projects.

This role requires experience welding gas mains, tapping with Mueller fittings, and the ability to work outdoors. You will load, unload, and transport materials, follow safety standards, and travel within the state as needed.

A valid driver's license (Class A CDL preferred) and strong organizational skills are essential to succeed on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass Wisconsin Utility Association (WUA) weld test.
• Must have tapping experience tapping with Mueller fittings.
• Experience welding gas mains preferred.
• Education in Gas & Utilities Construction preferred.
• Possesses a valid Driver's License in good standing.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Travel required within the state of Wisconsin.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs. regularly.

Responsibilities

• Weld gas pipe including service tees and tie-ins.
• Tapping with Mueller fittings.
• Prepare pipe alignment on worksite and assemble/weld gas piping of various sizes.
• Follow safety standards on site and during trench work.
• Signal operators and assist foreman for equipment movement.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools.
• Some in-state travel required.
• Communicate with site foreman as needed.

Job description

The Welder works as part of a crew to weld gas pipe.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welding service tees and tie ins.
• Tapping with Mueller fittings.
• Previous experience welding on Natural Gas pipe is required.
• Ability to weld to 12" steel pipe.
• Ability to work outdoors.
• Loads, unloads, and transports construction materials and tools.
• Signals operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Prepares pipe alignment on worksite.
• Assemble and weld gas piping of various sizes.
• Communicates and assists as needed, through site foreman.
• Follows safety standards throughout the process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, and coating joints.
• Some in state travel required.
• Other duties as assigned.
