Job summary

Lake Air Products in New Hope, MN is seeking a Weekend shift welder with TIG/MIG experience to join our team. If you enjoy hands-on work, this position could be a great fit. You will lay out, assemble, and weld components to exact specifications and inspect finished products for quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to weld in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds.
• Wear required PPE.
• Reading blueprints and taking measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using measuring tools.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces (hydrostatic, x-ray, dimension tolerance).
• Develop templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determine required equipment and welding methods using metallurgy and welding knowledge.
• Inspect finished products and compare with samples for conformance to specs.
• Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances with measuring instruments.
• Weld metal using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, PTAW, and other welding arcs.

Position Summary

• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance
• Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments
• welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld (TIG welding preferred)
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements
