Welder B Pressure (Hand Welder) Journeyperson - Suncor Fort Hills

Job Overview

JARDEG is seeking experienced B-Pressure Welder Journeypersons (Hand Welders) to join the SUNCOR Fort Hills project team near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a permanent position on a 7/7 shift schedule. Ideal candidates will have experience collaborating with other trades such as Millwrights and Pipefitters.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform welding to fuse metals using prescribed applications.
  2. Operate and understand various welding equipment and procedures.
  3. Read and interpret drawings, develop layout patterns, and calculate material quantities.
  4. Maintain knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, gases, and filler rods.
  5. Identify and repair defective welds following proper procedures.
  6. Apply mathematical calculations relevant to welding tasks.
  7. Adhere to industry codes and standards.
  8. Coordinate with other tradespeople on site.
  9. Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
  10. Maintain valid CWB and B-pressure tickets as required.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal.
  2. Safety certifications including CSTS, H2S Alive, AWP, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and Common Safety Orientation.
  3. Training in Overhead Crane & Rigging.
  4. Successful completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.
  5. Current welding tickets within the last 6 months: F3/F4 (Carbon SMAW), F6/F5 (Stainless TIG), F6 (Stainless GTAW), F43 (Inconel).
  6. Valid CWB and B-pressure tickets.
