Job description

Join to apply for the Welder B - 1st Shift role at Taco, Inc.

Position Summary

The Welder B performs a variety of routine welding duties, operating subarc machines to complete circumferential and longitudinal welds on tanks, heat exchanger shells, and nozzles. This role involves welding using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) processes on fillet joints and groove joints without backing.

Measures of Success
  • Full understanding of relevant Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and adherence to all parameters.
  • Timely completion of welding operations according to quality protocols.
  • Capability to perform fillet and groove welds with backing in horizontal and flat positions.
Responsibilities
  • Work from drawings, specifications, WPS, and instructions.
  • Operate various welding equipment and hand/power tools.
  • Perform standardized welding on tanks and heat exchanger shells using SAW with backing in the flat position.
  • Perform routine welding on sub-assemblies using FCAW/GMAW with backing in flat and horizontal positions.
  • Interpret drawings and perform layouts.
  • Assist with more complex welding tasks as needed.
  • Follow WPS and monitor welding parameters.
  • Maintain quality, report issues, and keep records in ERP system.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass ASME Section IX welding tests for FCAW/GMAW and SAW processes in various positions and materials.
  • At least 1 year of welding experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and navigate ERP systems.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand, and lift.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Minimal or no travel required.
Work Environment

Primarily on the production floor with large equipment and noise, requiring safety gear. No direct reports.

Compensation & Benefits
