Job summary

UTLX Manufacturing LLC, part of Marmon Holdings and Berkshire Hathaway, seeks a Welder B for our tank car fabrication team. You will work in a TEAM environment with safety first, performing welding operations, reading blueprints, and supporting assembly of tanks and large components.

With 2+ years of welding experience and the ability to pass SMAW and GMAW tests, you’ll position parts, check angles, and fabricate components to spec.

Qualifications

• 2+ years welding experience required.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and welding procedures.
• Pass welding tests including SMAW and GMAW.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to position, roll and move tanks and large components.
• Perform welding operations per certification level to fabricate and attach components to tank cars.
• Check angle measurements and adjust parts to secure together.
• Assemble flange and other assemblies.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Welder B who is safety conscious and willing to learn and grow with the business. This is a role where you will work in a TEAM environment where safety always comes first.

Job description

Welder B’s are an integral part of our manufacturing process. The requirements for the position are:

• 2 or more years’ experience welding
• Pass required welding tests including SMAW, GMAW
• Read, understand, and follow blueprints, welding procedures and proper use of tape measure
• Operate machinery to position, roll and move tanks and large components
• Perform welding operations per level of welding certification to fabricate and attach components to tank cars
• Check angle measurements, adjust parts to secure together
• Assemble flange
• Other duties as assigned
