Job summary

Club Car is seeking a Welder I to perform MIG welding on aluminum components and assist with fabrication and assembly for golf cars and utility vehicles. The role requires following detailed drawings, working in multiple positions, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of MIG welding experience, preferably with aluminum, and may hold AWS D1.2 (Aluminum) certification.

  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal parts prior to welding.
  • Work in multiple positions, including overhead, with occasional use of lifts or platforms.
  • Follow work instructions from management or team leads and document production activities.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and maintain clean, organized work area.

JOB TITLE: Welder I

Overview

Club Car boasts a 60+ year history of industry-leading innovation and design, initially focused on golf cars and then expanding to commercial utility vehicles and personal-use transportation.

General Job Description

Performs duties related to the welding of various component parts and assemblies utilizing MIG welding procedures on aluminum material, and the installation of various factory accessories or the assembly of various sub-assembly components on all types of golf cars and utility vehicles, in accordance with specified drawings and procedures. Stages and delivers material from supermarkets to points of use as assigned.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performs hand fabrication and related welding tasks as required.
  • Works in various positions requiring frequent stooping, bending, and overhead work; may also perform duties from man lifts, platforms, risers, or ladders.
  • Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working on overhead assemblies and on man lifts/platforms/risers/ladders.
  • Follows work instructions provided by management or team leads.
  • Adheres to standard work procedures and accurately completes production, maintenance, and operational documentation.
  • Participates in basic problem-solving activities, 5S initiatives, and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all assigned duties independently, without the need for additional training.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform the above duties with no additional training required.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
  • Maintains a safe and productive work environment by assuring the work area is clear of tools, brooms, debris, and other items that may present a hazard.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
Education and Certifications
  • (Preferred) Certification in AWS D1.2 (Aluminum) or equivalent welding certification, such as ASME/PED.
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in MIG welding, preferably on aluminum materials in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience performing hand fabrication, fitting, and assembly of metal components prior to welding.

  • Dexterity and hand‑eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
Physical Requirements

  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
