Overview

This position will use their skillset to weld metal tanks and/or components used in the production of transformers while considering the values and goals of Power Partners.

Responsibilities

• Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions regarding welding various metal and/or fabricating components to assemble distribution transformers as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedures, or oral instructions using various welding equipment.
• Ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, maintenance, and shut-down of equipment.
• Repeatedly lift/move material that is 50+ lbs. with or without assistance from lifting devices.
• Handle material and use hand/power tools as needed to perform required tasks.
• Ensure conformity of all welds and final products assembled to standards.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and understand written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• Use measuring devices such as tap measures, calipers, and micrometers.

• Ability to lift/push 50+ lbs. and pull up to 110 lbs.
• Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling.
• 20/40 vision with or without corrective lenses, including normal peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Compliance with all plant safety policies and PPE requirements.
