Job summary

Westerman, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a Welder/Assembly Technician to assemble piping, valves, gauges, and related equipment on pressure vessels and skids. This safety-sensitive role requires reading specs and blueprints, welding, bolting, and rigging as needed.

You will work with cranes and forklifts, fabricate metal parts per drawings, inspect welds, and maintain quality. A high school diploma and 6 months to 1 year in assembly/manufacturing are expected; crane/forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months–1 year assembly/manufacturing/material handling experience.
  • Must read and understand assembly blueprints and BOMs.
  • Able to safely operate crane and forklift (certified).
  • Welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read specifications or blueprints to determine materials and quantities.
  • Bolt aligned structural steel members for riveting, bolting or welding.
  • Hoist and position steel members using cranes or signaling operators.
  • Cut, bend or weld steel pieces per instructions.
  • Fabricate metal parts per blueprints; dismantle structures when needed.
  • Inspect welds and ensure quality and conformance with specs.
