  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Job description

Welder Assembler

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs structural carbon, galvanized, and stainless-steel welding.
  • Performs plasma and oxygen cutting.
  • Able to weld, layout, cut, and fit parts to meet drawing tolerances.
  • Regulate current, voltage, and select proper tips, rods, and sizes for various types of welding according to individual job requirements.
  • Manipulate electrode in proper sequence and use care to lay smooth and even bead of required width. (Avoid undercutting of metal).
  • Perform iron work, arc gouging, and blueprint reading.
  • Use hand or power tools to clean equipment after welding.
  • Perform experimental work for non-standard parts.
  • Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to proper supervision.
  • Perform necessary material handling associated with the job.
  • Maintain and record labor, production records in relation to time, quality, quantity, and other records.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards.
  • May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team-related duties, including Kaizen events, 5S programs, and problem-solving exercises.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and JHRA’s.
