JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Performs structural carbon, galvanized and stainless-steel welding
- Performs plasma and oxygen cutting
- Able to weld, layout, cut and fit parts to meet drawing tolerances
- Regulate current, voltage and select proper tips, rods and sizes for various types of welding according to individual job requirements
- Manipulate electrode in proper sequence and use care to lay smooth and even bead of required width. (Avoid undercutting of metal)
- Perform iron work, arc gouging, blueprint reading
- Use hand or power tools to clean equipment after welding
- Perform experimental work for non-standard parts
- Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to proper supervision
- Perform necessary material handling associated with the job
- Maintain and record labor, production records in relation to time, quality, quantity and other records
- Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards
- May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties. Including Kaizen events, 5S programs and problem-solving exercises
