Join to apply for the Welder Apprentice role at Rice Lake Weighing Systems.

Position Overview

The Welder Development Apprenticeship Program is designed for individuals passionate about becoming professional production welders. No prior welding experience is required; just a passion for the trade and the ability to pass pre-assessment tests in reading and math.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform manual welding processes to meet RLWS quality standards.
  2. Interpret manufacturing drawings for proper welding and part acceptance.
  3. Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  4. Grind and blast parts as needed before or after welding.
  5. Work independently and in teams to complete tasks.
  6. Study outside of work hours for written and practical tests.
Program Structure

The program includes an onboarding phase (full-time for 2 months or part-time for 4 months) and a training phase (full-time for 3 months). Successful completion requires passing all tests and committing to a two-year employment agreement.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and math skills.
  • Ability to read measurement tools and interpret drawings.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Onsite presence at Rice Lake, WI.
