Job summary

Epiroc invites applications for a Welder position at our Delhi, IA facility. Operate and maintain welding tools to meet quality and production standards under supervision from Value Stream Leader and Senior Team Leader. This onsite role emphasizes safe practices, blueprint reading, and efficient welding across tasks.

Candidates should read weld symbols, use a MIG welder, and perform basic equipment maintenance. Referral and sign-on bonuses may be available, with onsite shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated skill level of MIG welding.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Align, position, and fit components into fixtures as instructed.
• Set up gas-shielded MIG welder and weld parts to specifications.
• Read blueprints and welding symbols to complete tasks.
• Use hand tools, clamps, and grinders to perform duties.
• Conduct basic maintenance on welding equipment.
• Weld simple assemblies without fixtures.
• Monitor and adjust robotic welder to ensure quality.
• Maintain 5S standards and related duties.
• Perform tasks to meet quality and productivity goals.
• Understand and execute inventory paperwork and transactions.
• Adhere to SQDC metrics.
• Move within department/plant as assigned.

Under the supervision of the Value Stream Leader and Senior Team Leader, the welder is responsible to operate and maintain welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company.

• Adhere to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics.
• Move within department/plant as assigned.

Knowledge/Education

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must have demonstrated skill level of wire feed (M.I.G.) welding.

Skills and Abilities

• Good mathematical skills
• Ability to read tape measure and blueprints.
• Able to use an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
• Ability to read and understand work order outings and instructions.
• Ability to lay out parts using weld fixture.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the member is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and/or fingers to handle, touch objects, assemble parts, utilize tools or controls. They must have the ability to regularly lift up to 33 pounds using proper lifting techniques, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product. Ability to perform tasks at a standard rate. They must have hand and foot coordination to control and adjust equipment or tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
