Job Description: Structural Welder
Single hand welder needed in Abilene, TX.

Purpose
Raises, places, and unites girders, columns, and other structural steel members to form completed structures or frameworks.
Work Schedule
Varies by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week. Employment duration is limited to the job assignment and/or project duration.
Essential Skills
- Secure components together using knowledge of geometry, metal properties, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
- Assemble component layouts based on geometry, metal properties, and weld shrinkage.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to position for welding.
- Prepare materials by cutting or grinding using various tools.
- Set materials in stands, racks, hoists, etc., for welding.
- Operate welding equipment such as arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding tools.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, and reshaping.
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and manuals.
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Comply with company policies and safety manuals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience in the trade.
- Knowledge of metal properties and heat effects.
- Completion of welding certification administered by Samuel EPC.
- Ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals.
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for long periods.
- Handle and manipulate objects with arms and hands.
- Lift up to 50 pounds; with assistance, lift heavier.
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, and other structures.
- Perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Good vision and eye-hand coordination.
- Work at heights and in various weather conditions.
Tool Requirements
- Steel-toed boots, tape measure, welding hood, protective clothing, gloves, and various hand tools.
Work Environment
Physically demanding, may involve working at heights, outdoors, or in hazardous environments. Use of safety equipment required to mitigate risks.
