Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm with daily and weekend OT as needed.
  • 2nd Shift: 4:30 pm – 1:00 am with daily and weekend OT as needed.

Pay Rate: $31.00

Job Description:

  • Responsible for tack and solid welding of a watertight weld on Stainless Steel Cold Water Basin.
  • Performs basin modification or subassembly to support assembly line.
  • Detail oriented, follows instructions, works well in a team.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.2 welding qualification preferred, but not required.
  • Previous Stainless Steel Welding experience on 11‑gauge through 18‑gauge preferred, but not required.
  • Previous welding experience.

Activities / Tasks:

  • Pull parts.
  • Interpret build orders and engineering drawings correctly.
  • Reference engineering drawings to perform solid or tack welding.
  • Use welding equipment, tape measures, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Put on cart or fixture for next station.
  • Perform maintenance on torch when needed.
  • Identify parts using the build order.
  • Measure using a tape measure for correct positioning of components on the cooling tower.
  • Pick correct template in coordination with the build order or engineering drawing.
  • Accurately perform any necessary cutting within the cooling tower using appropriate cutting tools.
  • Grind edges using grinder.
  • Perform welding based upon tower and/or engineering specs.
  • Perform leak testing.
  • Use an overhead crane.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Adapt to change and flex work at appropriate times.
  • Use measuring tools and grinder correctly.
  • Use crane and air float correctly and safely.
  • Use hand tools (manual and pneumatic) correctly and safely.
  • Read tape measure in metric and imperial standards.
  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Determine differences in size, shape, and form accurately.
  • Work within precise limits and accuracy standards.
  • Interpret build orders and engineering drawings correctly.
  • Operate impact gun and torque wrench.
  • Multi‑task.

  • Work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Follow and understand directions.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds; 50+ pounds with assistance.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as required.
  • Use both hands overhead.
  • Perform repetitive motions.
  • Plant environment with exposure to varying weather and noise.
