Job summary

Encore Electric is seeking a Welder Foreman to ensure shop operations run smoothly and the welding team has what it needs to be successful. Responsibilities include project assignment, manpower planning, QA/QC, safety policy enforcement, and training coordination.

The role requires knowledge of welding codes (AWS/ASME), mentoring welders for certifications, and strong leadership to drive on-time project delivery. You will work in a demanding fabrication environment onsite.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with welding codes (AWS/ASME) and QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to mentor welders to pass certification tests.

Responsibilities

  • Assign projects to the team and manage manpower.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure QA/QC.
  • Enforce safety policies and oversee New Hire Orientation.
  • Ensure shop is cleaned daily and supplies are available.

Overview

The Welder Foreman is responsible for making sure the shop runs smoothly from day to day, by ensuring the team has everything they need to be successful.

General Responsibilities
  • Works with a commitment to safety

  • Comes to work on time every day with appropriate attire and tools
  • Keeps work area clean
  • Installs quality work in a neat and workmanship like manner
  • Treats tools with respect
  • Works and climbs on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
  • Identifies electrical parts and components
  • Perform strenuous physical work i.e., digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing
  • Keeps up with changing technology
  • Wears tools at all required times
  • Work in all weather conditions
Specific Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assigning projects to the team
  • Responsible for maintaining manpower needs
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring deadlines are met

  • Responsible for making sure the team has everything they need to be successful
  • Responsible for facilitating any training the team needs
  • Responsible for ensuring the shop is cleaned everyday
  • Puts together estimates on fabrication
  • Material take off and ordering
  • Assist with projects when needed

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required. Experience in general welding codes and the ability to mentor welders to pass certification tests is strongly preferred.
