Job description

Job Title: Welders

Generac, a leading energy technology company with over 60 years of history, is seeking skilled welders for our third shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with Friday overtime based on business needs.

Starting Wage:

• Welder I - $21.25/hr + 11% shift premium
• Welder II - $25.50/hr + 11% shift premium

Responsibilities:

Welder I:

• Comply with safety rules
• Operate welding equipment safely and effectively
• Support different products and areas as needed
• Train new employees and those learning new work areas
• Follow procedures and interpret engineering drawings
• Assist with robotic welding

Welder II:

• All Welder I responsibilities
• Perform intermediate MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding
• Troubleshoot welding issues
• Maintain welding equipment

Welder III:

• All Welder I & II responsibilities
• Understand aluminum alloys and TIG (GTAW) welding
• Weld complex components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Operate robotic welders

Requirements:

General: High school diploma or certification

Welder I:

• Internal weld test
• Basic welding knowledge and experience
• Ability to follow directions and work in a team

Welder II:

• 1 year of production welding experience and successful weld test
• Working towards apprenticeship or certification
• Manufacturing experience
• Basic MIG and TIG welding knowledge
• Crane certification

Welder III:

• 2 years of production welding experience and successful weld test
• Experience in root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, PDCA)

Physical Demands:

Must be able to talk, hear, manipulate objects, stand, walk, occasionally stoop, bend, reach, and lift 25-50 pounds. Frequent computer-based work and occasional travel required.
