JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Description: Set up and perform manual welding to repair castings according to industry, internal, and customer specifications using the GTAW weld process. Perform all upgrade operations as needed, including setup, preheat, clamping, grinding, blending, and visual inspection of welds to restore castings to close tolerances as per customer standards. Work from Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), drawings, sketches, and specifications, using various measuring tools to check tolerances and interpass/preheat temperatures. Produce NDT quality welds using .045 to .093 dia. weld rod, maintaining proper weld rod per alloy. Assist in developing new repair techniques based on experience. Perform TPM, adjustments, and ensure calibrations are current on welding power sources and related equipment. Maintain processes, procedures, and records in accordance with Nadcap requirements.
2. Requirements: Two to four years of related TIG welding experience. Ability to pass a 1G Vee-Groove weld qualification in a 300 Series Stainless Steel weld plate, including visual, PT, RT, bend, and tensile testing. Must pass and maintain all required certifications including weld tests as per ASME Sec.IX, MIL-STD-1595A, S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 & 278, AMS 2694A, or equivalent. Ability to pass and maintain acceptable vision examinations and weld workmanship training. Capable of reading and retaining work instructions specific to the weld program.
