Job description

Laron is looking for a Welder 3 to join our team in Phoenix, AZ!

As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, motors, and generators, according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Weld metal parts together using gas welding or brazing and arc welding processes
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to achieve required configurations for welding
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials
• Other duties may be assigned

What You’ll Need:

• Appropriate education and experience allowing the employee to acquire necessary skills and abilities
• Ability to weld 6010, TIG & Root, and 7018 in both processes
• Must pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of relevant agencies
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using measuring tools
• Demonstrate proficiency in equipment and product selection
• Skills include arm-hand steadiness, control precision, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi-limb coordination, and reading comprehension
• Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods
• Maintain knowledge of machines, tools, raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs
