  • $22.59/hr - Welder II

Job Summary

Welds metal parts using gas welding equipment according to blueprints, performing duties such as positioning parts, examining welds, repairs, and preparations for welding processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Position parts in jigs or fixtures, or clamp parts together.
  • Examine welds for bead size and specifications.
  • Repair broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts.
  • Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces.
  • Prepare welds by scarfing or grooving prior to filler application.
  • Finish welds by chipping or grinding off excess material.
  • Clean and degrease parts.
  • Perform MIG welding and read AWS blueprints.
  • Perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities. Must wear PPE including a PAPR for extended periods.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience. Ability to work a 4-day on, 4-day off schedule.

Physical Demands

Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, handle objects, lift up to 50+ lbs, and perform tasks requiring close and distant vision. Work may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, and loud environments.
