Job Summary

Work Shift: 2nd Shift

Are you the type of person who moves quickly, is independent, and adapts well to new and different situations? In this role, you will use welding skills including fit-up, tacking, and welding of cast, machined, forged, and fabricated steel components to assemble industrial equipment. We’re looking for dedicated team members with a drive to build the best.

What You’ll Do
  1. Complete weldments in various welding positions according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications using GMAW-P, following Vermeer Welding Standards.
  2. Position, align, and fit components together utilizing fixturing. Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications.
  3. Set and operate an OFC oxyfuel torch for preheating safely and efficiently.
  4. Perform regular and routine maintenance on welding equipment.
  5. Support 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offer suggestions and make improvements to achieve department performance metrics.
What We’re Looking For
  • Ability to complete Vermeer Weld Training to achieve required certifications, licenses, or registrations of GMAW, 1G-L, 1G-UL, 3F, and 4F.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Calculate figures and apply basic mathematical functions including fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Ability to perform problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate actions in multiple situations.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Work Location

Onsite: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
