Working at our Cincinnati Aviation Component Service Center:
Our ACSC facility develops and conducts a wide range of engine component repairs, including rotating parts, complex assemblies, and nozzles across 29 different engine models.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Broad Function:
Perform layout, setup, and welding on various aircraft engine component parts and assemblies based on plans, verbal instructions, prints, or sketches. Fabricate, repair, or rework using all required welding and cutting processes, including manual arc (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, TIG), semi-automated (GTAW, PAW, LW, EBW), machine weld (RSW, Dabber), oxyacetylene, plasma cutting, flame brazing/soldering, TIG brazing, and arc brazing. Use argon chambers and gas backups. Fabricate heat sinks and related items for welding operations. Prepare surfaces with files, grinders, and other tools to ensure quality repairs. Achieve certification in required processes and demonstrate ability to restore dimensional and structural integrity of engine hardware through various techniques. Use all types of measuring instruments and perform fluorescent dye penetrant inspections as required. Maintain documentation and adhere to quality and efficiency standards. Lead or train others as needed and collaborate with engineers on tooling and repair process design.
