Job description

Wastequip has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our Amrep Division in our Ontario, CA manufacturing operation. This is a full-time position with great benefits including, but not limited to, Health Insurance, 401K Plan, Paid Vacation/Sick time, and more. The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks.
  2. Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces.
  3. Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
  4. Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch, adjust gas mixture and pressure, and operate the torch to cut metal.
  5. Examine welds for bead size and specifications.
  6. Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
  7. Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
  9. Regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Qualifications

  • Six months of related experience and/or training.
  • MIG welding experience is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
  • Knowledge of basic math and tape measure reading.
  • Ability to read blueprints and measuring tapes is preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment is preferred.
  • Able to pass all EHS requirements.
