Job summary

BTD in Minnesota is seeking a skilled welder to join our manufacturing team. This role emphasizes welding, reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and following strict safety policies in a dynamic shop environment.

You will operate basic measurement tools, adjust to changing production needs, and ensure a clean, safe workspace while logging time and job counts in our system.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • At least two years of wire welding and related mechanical and shop experience.
  • Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of basic Welding.
  • Basic knowledge of a Welder #2.

Responsibilities

  • Visualize and interpret blue prints and sketches.
  • Manufacture quality parts by referring to the pattern and paperwork.
  • Use basic inspection equipment to inspect parts produced.
  • Produce quality welds with the settings the cell was setup with.
  • Adjust to changes in production requirements.
  • Acknowledge problems with the welder and involve the correct person.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by following the cleanup schedule.
  • Clock in/out of work and check job count using computer software.

Job description

Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment.3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to visualize and interpret blue prints and sketches.
  • Manufacture quality parts by referring to the pattern, and paperwork.
  • Ability to use the basic inspection equipment (calipers, height gauge, etc.) to be able to inspect parts being produced by the individual.
  • Ability to produce quality welds with the settings the cell was setup with.
  • Ability to adjust to changes in production requirements.
  • Ability to acknowledge problems with the welder and be able to get the correct individual involved.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by following the clean-up schedule.
  • Must be able to use the computer software to clock in and out of work and in/out of jobs along with checking job count.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience and Skills Required: At least two years of wire welding and other related mechanical and shop experience which includes the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of basic Welding.
  • Basic knowledge of a Welder #2.

Compensation Salary Range: OTC5 $22.78-$31.89 related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc.
