Job summary

BlueScope Buildings is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration with a supportive team in Evansville, WI.

The position requires interpreting blueprints, setup of welds, and the use of hand tools and basic shop equipment. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented welder able to interpret blueprints.
• Willingness to learn welding techniques and adapt to tasks.
• Safety-conscious and able to work well in a team.
• Able to operate basic shop equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Join and Fabricate: Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Prepare and Set Up: Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.

We're looking for skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join, fabricate, and repair metal into high-quality components for our community. $3,000 Sign On Bonus! $1,500 at 90 days and $1,500 at the 1-year mark!

Hours are Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm with some OT required
