Job summary

OPW Clean Energy Solutions (CES) is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate pipe and structural components used in cryogenic and gas handling systems. The role includes laying out, fitting, welding, and repairing components per drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include selecting equipment, setting up welds with arc, TIG, or submerged arc processes, and inspecting welds for quality. Preferred experience in 6G welding.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or technical school.
  • 1–2 years of related experience or training.
  • 6G welding position preferred, ASME code welding may be required.

  • Fabricate from sketches or blueprints.

  • Inspect welds for bead size and quality.

OPW Clean Energy Solutions (CES)

We are seeking a skilled welder to fabricate pipe and structural components for our clean energy solutions. The role involves laying out, fitting, welding, and repairing components used in cryogenic and gas handling systems.

Summary

Lays out, fits, and welds pipe and structural materials used in the fabrication of components to assemble structural forms such as piping/instrumentation, vacuum‑jacketed piping, spool piping, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembles, and welds.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Fabricates from sketches, blueprints or instruction.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack‑welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, GTAW‑ARC (TIG) welding, submerged arc, or other welding process used by the company.
  • Repairs/reworks products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Uses hand and power tools to perform work.
  • Examines welds for bead size and other visual specifications.
  • Lays out, positions, and tack‑welds work pieces for fit‑up.
  • Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines.
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
  • Assembles completed spool pieces into final assemblies per drawings and spec sheets.
  • Is able to qualify for ASME Code welding as required.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Preferred ability to weld in a 6G position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or technical school
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
