Job summary

NABRICO Marine Products in Ashland City, TN is seeking a safety-focused Structural Welder to join our team. You will perform FCAW welding on barge components used in inland marine transport, upholding quality and safety standards.

This role requires knowledge of welding symbols, WPS, and the ability to pass FCAW tests (2F/3F/4F). We value craftsmanship, reliability, and teamwork in a growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year FCAW welding experience.
• Must pass flat fillet 2F, vertical fillet 3F and overhead fillet 4F FCAW weld tests.
• Ability to read welding symbols, weld sizing requirements, and quality acceptance criteria.
• Ability to read and follow welding procedures and work instructions.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and SMAW (Stick Welding) per approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Complete flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds.
• Read welding symbols, weld sizes, and quality requirements.
• Inspect welds to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Safely operate welding equipment and keep work area clean.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors, fitters, and production team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Perform FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and/or SMAW (Stick Welding) in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Successfully complete and perform flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds.
• Read and interpret welding symbols, weld sizes, and quality requirements.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Safely operate welding equipment and maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities as needed.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and other production team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to perform welding duties while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators as needed.
• Ability to work at heights of 15 feet or more when required.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.
• Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and stand throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
• Willingness to work overtime and Saturday based on production needs.
• Ability to accurately follow work instructions, supervisor direction, blueprints, and established procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
