You understand that strong welds, clean finishes, and following procedures aren’t just “part of the job” — they’re what keep customers safe and our reputation strong. You take ownership of your work, help where needed, and want to be part of a team that gets things done.

In this role, you’ll weld steel and metal components used in cranes, crane bases, and power and hand winches. Equipment that’s trusted in demanding, real-world applications. You’ll work from prints and specifications, maintain quality standards, and contribute to building products that last.

At Thern®, we’ve spent more than 75 years building lifting, pulling, and positioning equipment that customers rely on. That only happens because of people who pursue excellence, support one another, and take pride in doing honest, high-quality work every day. If you want steady work, a team that respects your skills, and a place where your effort matters, you’ll feel at home here.

  • Strikes (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
  • Manually guides gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
  • Welds in flat and horizontal positions
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Chips off excess weld and spatter
  • Positions and clamps work pieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
