Job description

Wastequip has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our Tyler, TX manufacturing operation. This is a full-time position with benefits including health insurance, 401K plan, paid vacation/sick time, and more. The ideal candidate will be a MIG welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures, or clamp parts along layout marks.
• Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces.
• Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
• Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, light torch, and adjust gas flow for cutting.
• Examine welds for quality and specifications.
• Groove welds and parts as needed.
• Remove excess weld material, slag, or splatter.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and 90 lbs. occasionally.
• Maintain specific vision abilities including distance, close, peripheral, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum six months of MIG welding experience and/or training.
• Ability to MIG weld in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and measurements.
• Experience in a production environment.
• Ability to pass all required EHS tests and clearances.
