Job summary

Life Fitness is seeking a production welder to MIG-weld and assemble steel parts for commercial and home fitness equipment. You will interpret blueprints, set up welding equipment, and perform quality welds to meet production targets.

The role requires up to 2 years of welding experience, proficiency with MIG setup, and ability to handle grinders and hand tools. Noise and dust are present; PPE is provided.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of production welding experience.
  • Knowledge of MIG welding equipment setup and operation.
  • Experience using oxy-acetylene torches, grinders, sanders and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and manufacturing specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Weld, grind, and repair welded assemblies on raw steel.
  • Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Produce quality weldments while meeting production rates.
  • Enter completed work orders into the production tracking system.
  • Communicate safety, production or quality issues to supervisors.

Position requires lifting up to 35 lbs., reaching, repetitive motion, and exposure to dust, vibration, welding fumes, infrared and ultraviolet light.
