Job summary

Praxy is seeking a skilled Welder/Assembler to join our manufacturing team in the United States. You will assemble finished goods, mount trays, shelves, tool boards and doors, and weld in flat and vertical positions, ensuring clean lines and adherence to specifications.

You will operate manual and automated welding equipment, inspect welds, and rotate through workstations to maintain balanced line flow. Candidates should have basic shop math and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Job description

Ensures that assigned assembly functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures and that quality standards are met or exceeded, and that related documentation is accurate and complete. Foster and promote continuous improvement and work a positive work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Welder duties:

• Responsible for assembly of finished goods.
• Will perform mounting of trays, shelves, tool boards and doors
• Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding) making clean lines and cuts when welding
• Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
• Rotate to different workstations in order to achieve a balanced line flow
• Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
• Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
• Tack assemblies together/mig weld material together.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

• Interpret MBW safety policies/practices to employees including ensuring safe work practices and company policies are followed.
• Serve as backup for other positions within the department.
• Assist in training, organizing of other employees in work cell
• Other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to efficiently function in fast-paced work environment
• Computer skills
• Must be able to interpret work orders, drawings, blueprints, production schedule
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Qualified vertical, flat and horizontal position using electrode, MIG welding equipment
• Qualified to MBW, PQR and WPS code standards
• Follow written communications and verbal instructions
• Basic knowledge in shop math, be able to convert decimals and fractions, measure and build to within specifications, check work for dimensional accuracy and correct as needed
• Proficient knowledge to use various power and machine tools. Must be able to use hand tools and measuring devices, as well as assembly fixtures to complete assemblies
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
• Perform 6S checks in area and report items not completed
• Work independently without needing direct supervision
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of mission, value, and ethics statement.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Prefer manufacturing experience and welding experience
• Prefer High School Diploma or GED equivalent
