Job summary

Marion Body Works, Inc. is seeking experienced welders for our Marion, WI facility. You will ensure that assembly functions are performed safely, meet quality standards, and that related documentation is complete.

This role promotes continuous improvement and a positive work environment. You will operate manual and automated welding units, weld in multiple positions, and line up parts, perform MIG welding, inspect bead size, and rotate across stations to balance line flow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in welding and manufacturing preferred.
  • Able to read work orders and blueprints.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Capable of basic shop math.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and weld finished goods.
  • Mount trays, shelves, and doors using clean lines.
  • Operate welding units and deposit metal.
  • Align parts and verify bead size and fusion.
  • Rotate through workstations to balance line flow.
  • Tack assemblies and MIG weld pieces.
  • Train and assist others as needed.

We are looking for experienced Welders for our Marion, WI facility. In this role you will ensure that assigned assembly functions are conducted safely in accordance with established policies and procedures and that quality standards are met or exceeded, and that related documentation is accurate and complete. Foster and promote continuous improvement and work in a positive work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for assembly of finished goods.
  • Will perform mounting of trays, shelves, tool boards and doors using clean lines and cuts
  • Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
  • Rotate to different workstations in order to achieve a balanced line flow
  • Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
  • Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).
  • Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
  • Tack assemblies together/MIG weld material together.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as backup for other positions within the department.
  • Assist in training, organizing of other employees in work cell
  • Other tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Ability to efficiently function in fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to use computer
  • Must be able to interpret work orders, drawings, blueprints, production schedule
  • Qualified vertical, flat and horizontal position using electrode, MIG welding equipment
  • Basic knowledge in shop math, be able to convert decimals and fractions, measure and build to within specifications, check work for dimensional accuracy and correct as needed
  • Proficient knowledge to use various power and machine tools. Must be able to use hand tools and measuring devices, as well as assembly fixtures to complete assemblies
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Work independently without needing direct supervision
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Prefer manufacturing experience and welding experience
  • Prefer High School Diploma or GED equivalent

1st shift, Monday - Thursday 5:30 AM - 3:30 PM
