Job summary

Terex Corporation in Huron, SD is seeking a Welder to turn raw steel into the structural foundations of our utility trucks and equipment. You will read blueprints, set up jigs, and weld using MIG and FCAW, ensuring welds meet approved procedures and quality standards.

Join a safety‑conscious team and operate overhead cranes as you collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience welding steel using GMAW (MIG) and/or FCAW in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of weld quality standards and the ability to perform basic visual inspections.
  • Ability to safely use overhead cranes, hoists, and material-handling equipment (or willingness to be trained).
  • Strong commitment to safety, including consistent use of PPE and adherence to hot-work requirements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning materials.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work assigned shifts (including weekends, if applicable).
  • Preferred Technical diploma or coursework in welding or fabrication.
  • Previous experience welding structural or heavy-gauge steel.
  • Familiarity with AWS welding standards.
  • Experience working in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn additional processes, including robotic welding or advanced fabrication skills.

  • Collaborate to improve: Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and your team to solve problems, reduce rework/distortion, and support continuous improvement and 5S.
  • Grow your skills: Participate in training (including weld school/skills development and, where applicable, robotic welding) to expand capabilities and progress through defined skill levels.

As a Welder at Terex, based in Huron, SD, you turn raw steel into the structural foundations of our utility trucks and equipment that keep people safe.



What you'll do

The salary range for this position is $22.84 to $27.94 per hour.
