Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear in Burleson, TX is seeking skilled welders to join a precision-focused team. The role centers on MIG welding, with opportunities to use Flux Core welding, and requires reading English instructions and logs.

You will handle heavy parts, perform quality checks, and support adjacent production areas in a fast-paced environment. The position runs 1st shift, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with safety and process standards emphasized daily.

Qualifications

  • MIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting required.
  • Flux Core welding experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand English instructions and logs.
  • Physically able to lift and position heavy components.
  • Stand for full shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • MIG welding to join metal parts according to specs.
  • Follow process sheets and blueprints to complete tasks.
  • Move large parts manually or with a crane when needed.
  • Inspect welds and finish with grinders as required.
  • Keep machines and work areas clean and safe.
  • Perform quality checks on finished work.
  • Assist in other areas to meet production needs.

Job description

We're looking for skilled Welders like you!

What You’ll Do
  • MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding to join metal parts, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Production Task Execution: Follow process sheets, blueprints, or verbal instructions from the supervisor to complete production tasks accurately.
  • Material Handling: Maneuver large or heavy parts manually or with the assistance of a crane, as required.
  • Weld Inspection & Finishing: Inspect welds throughout the process for quality, using grinding tools as necessary to achieve desired finishes.
  • Machine & Workspace Maintenance: Keep machines and work areas clean and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets predetermined tolerances and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist in other areas or departments as assigned to meet production needs.
What You’ll Bring
  • MIG Welding Experience: Prior experience in MIG welding within a manufacturing environment or equivalent technical schooling is required.
  • Additional Welding Skills: Experience with Flux Core welding is a plus.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with grinding tools, drill presses, and ironwork is advantageous.
  • Communication & Documentation: Basic oral communication skills; ability to read and understand written instructions in English and complete basic logs and reports in English.
  • Physical Capability: Physically able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy components as required.
  • Attendance & Compliance: Ability to work scheduled hours and adhere to company timekeeping and all other policies.
  • Shift Endurance: Ability to consistently stand for the entire duration of the shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: General mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
  • Team Orientation: Able to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team player.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
Your Schedule
  • 1st Shift - Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
