General Dynamics NASSCO Bremerton is seeking a skilled Welder to perform welding tasks across ship compartments in a safety-first environment. The role requires extensive NAVSEA-related experience, strong ability to read weld symbols and drawings, and the ability to pass multiple welding process tests.
You will work with a team to ensure safe hot-work practices, maintain WAF tickets, and comply with safety procedures while meeting production goals.

Visual Requirements: Must be able to pass a Standard Jaeger's Test chart for near vision acuity reading J1 letters or equivalent with or without corrective aids and pass a color vision test using Ishihara's Tests for Color Deficiency.
This position develops and maintains a positive working relationship with other Welders and supports a team approach in the pursuit of common company goals.
Responsible for effective, efficient and safe accomplishment of all assigned tasks. This position reports to Weld Crew Leader, Foreman, and General Foreman.

Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the job. Must have dependable transportation. Weekend work and/or extended hours may be required. Must be able to access all work locations, including government and private shipyards and/or vessels.
Must be willing to travel, if needed.
This position is part of a newly recognized bargaining unit represented by the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers O& Helpers (IBB).
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity. At NASSCO Bremerton we anticipate making salary offers between the minimum and midpoint of salary range. Offers will be based on experience, abilities, and knowledge similar to the NASSCO Job being applied for NASSCO employees performing similar work.
