Emerson in Boulder, Colorado is seeking a Welder for 1st shift to join our skilled manufacturing team. You will perform manual, automated, or semi-automated welding operations, interpret drawings and weld specifications, and ensure parts meet defined quality and dimensional standards.

You will read and apply welding procedures, participate in inspections, maintain traceability records, and work safely within 5S+1 standards.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Perform assigned manual, automated, or semi-automated welding operations using approved Welding Procedure Specifications, drawings, specifications, travelers, and work instructions
• Prepare, fit, position, and weld components and assemblies according to documented dimensional and quality requirements
• Perform routine, clearly defined welding assignments using approved parameters, methods, tooling, fixtures, and equipment
• Escalate concerns regarding welding parameters, methods, or approved procedures
• Recognize weld defects, fit-up concerns, equipment issues, process deviations, and abnormal conditions; resolve immediate execution issues within established instructions and elevate other concerns
• Perform required pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld visual inspections and authorized testing
• Identify and report nonconforming products or materials according to established site procedures
• Accurately complete required production, material, quality, certification, and traceability records using approved paper or electronic systems
• Obtain and maintain the welding, process, product, equipment, inspection, and safety qualifications required for the assigned site and work area
• Follow all safety procedures, properly use required personal protective equipment, recognize hazards and near misses and complete required reporting
• Perform assigned operator-level preventive maintenance and verify that equipment, tools, fixtures, and inspection devices are suitable for use
• Maintain assigned work areas, tools, equipment, and materials according to 5S+1 standards
• Participate in approved Lean, continuous-improvement, quality-system, audit, or new-product activities as assigned
• Work cooperatively with production and support functions and seek feedback to build technical skills
• Support production in other products, processes, equipment, or work areas when properly trained, qualified, and authorized

For This Role, You Will Need:

• EDUCATION: None; recognized welding program, AWS-aligned welding certificate, or related technical education preferred
• EXPERIENCE: Basic welding knowledge required through experience or school; relevant welding or manufacturing experience preferred, or successful completion of the site-approved training and qualification process; ability to read and apply applicable work instructions, welding procedures, drawings, and welding symbols
• REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Ability to successfully complete the required onsite weld test according to ASME Section IX code requirements, and to obtain and maintain all qualifications required for the assigned site and work area

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the hourly pay range for this role is $29.15 - $33.48 commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
