Job summary

Centrex Technical Sales, a Flow Control Group subsidiary, seeks a skilled sanitary piping technician to join our manufacturing team in providing high-purity process piping solutions.

You will fabricate systems, assemble manifolds, and fit tanks, while reading P&IDs and maintaining hygienic, compliant joints across food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical projects. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of dedicated experience in sanitary process piping.
• Proven track record of fitting up complex valve manifolds and stainless steel process equipment.
• Hands-on experience fitting up and aligning sanitary process tanks.
• Strong understanding of sanitary connections (Tri-Clamp, Bevel Seat), surface finish requirements, and passivation.
• Skilled in using sanitary pipe cutters, facing tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
• Direct background building process skids or modular systems for the food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities

• System Fabrication: Measure, cut, and fit up high-purity stainless steel sanitary tubing and piping systems for custom process skids.
• Manifold Assembly: Assemble and fit up complex valve manifolds and process skids according to engineering drawings.
• Tank Fitting: Position, align, and fit up process vessels, reactors, and tanks into skid systems.
• Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and layout schematics.
• Weld Preparation: Ensure precise fit-ups and beveling for sanitary TIG/GTAW welding.
• Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to hygienic design standards (e.g., 3-A, FDA, ASME BPE) to ensure crevice-free, contamination-resistant joints.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy pipe components (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment.
