Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an entry-level Welder I to perform welding, fabrication, and repair work in a data center production environment. All work must follow PCX engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines under supervision.

You will read and interpret drawings with supervision, inspect welds for quality, and participate in apprenticeship or formal training to develop welding skills and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years of related welding experience.

Job Overview

The Welder I is responsible for performing entry-level welding, fabrication, and repair work in support of manufacturing operations within a data center production environment. All work is performed in accordance with PCX engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines. This role requires the ability to follow instructions, interpret drawings with supervision, and produce welds that meet structural and workmanship requirements.

The Welder I works under direct supervision and may participate in formal training or apprenticeship programs to further develop welding skills and technical knowledge.

A Day In The Life

In this role, a typical day may include:

  • Fabricating, welding, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using approved welding techniques and equipment
  • Preparing materials for welding, including positioning, securing, and basic surface preparation
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, or specifications with assistance from supervision
  • Inspecting completed welds to verify structural integrity and adherence to quality requirements
  • Operating welding equipment and tools safely according to established procedures
  • Following all PCX safety guidelines when working in potentially hazardous environments
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Participating in job-related training, including apprenticeship or formal skill development as required
  • Communicating with supervisors regarding progress, issues, or quality concerns
