Job summary

Phantom Staffing in Twinsburg, OH is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our metal fabrication team. You will read blueprints, select welding methods, and join components using MIG, TIG and stick processes to build machinery and structures.

Candidates must have strong measurement skills (micrometers, calipers), understand fractions and decimals, and possess a solid mechanical aptitude with hydraulics and pneumatics. Safety, teamwork and adherence to PPE are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of in-depth knowledge welding and fabricating metal machinery.
• Proficiency with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to calculate fractions and decimals conversions when needed.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with some hydraulics and pneumatics familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Welding and joining materials together, cutting and shaping metal pieces using torches and welding tools.
• Read and understand technical drawings, specifications and blueprints.
• Inspect metal for quality and set up parts using jigs, clamps and fixtures.
• Fit-up and weld in vertical, horizontal and overhead positions.
• Operate torches, electric arcs and welding tools to fuse seams or holes.
• Monitor welding process and inspect finished work for defects.
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow PPE safety protocols.
• Operate a range of hand and power tools including saws, grinders, drills, welders, lifts and forklifts.
• Contribute to teamwork and maintain a positive attitude.

JOB SUMMARY

• Welding and joining materials together, cutting and shaping metal pieces using specialized torches and welding tools to create structures, products and machinery.
• Have working knowledge of MIG, TIG and stick welding processes.
• Read and understand technical drawings, specifications and blueprints to understand project requirements and dimensions.
• Inspect metal for quality, select the appropriate tools and methods, and set up metal parts according to the design using jigs, clamps and fixtures.
• Fit-up and weld in vertical, horizontal and overhead positions.
• Use torches, electric arcs and other welding implements to fuse, join and fill seams or holes in metal.
• Monitor the welding process and inspect the finished work to assess quality, identifying any flaws or defects.
• Maintain a clean working environment to ensure all items are in good working order.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations, and consistently use personal protective equipment ( PPE) at all times.
• Properly operate a wide range of hand and power tools including, but not limited to, saws, grinders, drills, welders, overhead cranes lifts and forklifts.
• Maintain a good working attitude and cooperate with peers in a positive spirit of teamwork.
