Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder to perform welding, fabrication, fitting, and assembly work in a custom aerospace and simulation manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for producing welded assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum components.
- Read drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
- Fit, align, tack, weld, and inspect fabricated parts and assemblies.
- Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and measuring equipment safely.
- Complete work according to quality requirements, production schedules, and established procedures.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Perform other manufacturing and fabrication duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with MIG welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to weld steel and aluminum is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of welding techniques, joint preparation, fit-up, distortion control, and material characteristics.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, and angle finders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a manufacturing team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience with MIG welding; aluminum welding experience is preferred.
- Ability to pass a practical weld test.
- Welding certification or vocational training is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling in a shop environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and follow verbal/written instructions.
- Exposure to tools, machinery, and materials consistent with a fabrication shop environment.
