Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a skilled Welder for our Fire Fabrication shop. You will operate a universal welder to cut and weld steel pipe, read blueprints, interpret drawings, and set up equipment according to specifications.

The successful candidate will have 4+ years welding experience, be able to read a tape measure, and possess or be willing to obtain pipe welding certificates. Weekend work and reliable attendance are required, along with a strong safety mindset and good communication.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass a drug test.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours and weekends as required.
• Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical.

Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a Welder in our Fire Fabrication shop. In this position, you will be responsible for using a universal welder to make cuts and welds on steel pipe.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings
• Take measurements to plan layouts
• Set up welding machine according to specifications
• Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Test all machine welds to ensure quality
• Weld by hand any leaks found in quality penetration die test
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 4 plus years of welding experience
• Read a tape measure
• Pipe welding and welding certificates a plus
• Be dependable
• Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical for this position
• Good work ethic and a willingness to learn
• Must be able to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form
• Must be able to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed).
• Must be 18 years or older
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with others
• Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
