Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. in our Fire Fabrication shop is seeking a Welder to operate a universal welder, cut and weld steel pipe, and read blueprints. The role requires 4+ years of welding experience and the ability to work extended hours, including Saturdays.

You will set up welding equipment, weld components in various positions, and test welds for quality while maintaining safety standards. Dependability and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years welding experience
• Read a tape measure
• Pipe welding and welding certificates a plus
• Be dependable
• Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical for this position
• Good work ethic and a willingness to learn
• Must communicate ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to work Saturdays; attendance counts
• Must be 18 years or older
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with others
• Ability to push/pull or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8–12 hour shifts
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours and weekends

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings
• Take measurements to plan layouts
• Set up welding machine according to specifications
• Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Test all machine welds to ensure quality
• Weld by hand any leaks found in quality penetration die test
• Other duties as assigned
