Parker Hannifin's Industrial Gas Filtration & Generation (IGFG) division in Lancaster, NY seeks a skilled welder to build and weld custom products from prints and raw materials.

You will read blueprints, set up welders for TIG, MIG and spot welding, and work with aluminum, steel and stainless steel. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Welding of spot, TIG and MIG welds in flat, horizontal and vertical positions.
  • Fabricates and welds non-ASME code components.
  • Reads schematics and follows written work instructions.
  • Identifies material types including Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel.
  • Must pass a basic welding test prior to hire.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and measurement devices.

Position Summary

Build/Welds custom products from prints and raw materials.


Responsibilities

  • Follows established safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Welds including spot welding, tig and mig (Positions: flat, horizontal and vertical)
  • Fabricates and welds non-ASME code components.
  • Sets up welders, fabricates (cuts, welds, and drills), grinds and finishes.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • General welding coursework completed preferred (For entry level welder).

Experience

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience working with sheet metal.

Skills

  • Ability to understand and follow written work instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools such as tape measure, wrenches, drills, etc.
  • Basic level math skills including fractions and decimals and an understanding of angles.
  • Ability to read from a schematic.
  • Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel.
  • Ability to pass a basic welding test prior to being hired.
  • Computer skills including MS Office and ability to learn Parker business systems.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $20.86/hr to $32.34/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
