Accelera Staffing is seeking skilled MIG and TIG welders to join our team in the Louisville and Shelby County regions. Various shifts are available with pay ranging from $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include welding to spec from schematics, surface preparation, equipment upkeep, and quality checks. Credentials like ASME/OSHA/MIG/AWS are preferred, with a high school diploma or GED and vocational welding background forming a typical baseline.

Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize MIG or TIG equipment to fuse metal components, ensuring machine settings are optimized for the specific material thickness and joint configuration.
• Analyze technical schematics and blueprints to accurately identify assembly requirements and welding specifications.
• Prepare metal surfaces by removing imperfections with grinders or scrapers to help ensure high-quality adhesion.
• Perform routine checks on welding apparatus, including shielding gas flow, wire spools, and cable integrity, to maintain operational efficiency.
• Examine completed welds for potential flaws to ensure the final product meets all necessary industry standards and quality benchmarks.
• Assist with alternative welding methods, such as stick welding, whenever the project demands it.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of metal properties, various welding methodologies, and essential safety protocols.
• Proficiency in utilizing measuring instruments like combination squares and calipers, as well as operating lathes, grinders, and hand-held torches.
• Demonstrated physical endurance for standing and lifting, combined with the precision and focus required for high-quality work.
• Possession of relevant credentials, such as ASME, OSHA, MIG, or AWS certifications, is often preferred or necessary.
• Completion of a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational welding education or equivalent professional experience.
