This position works under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor and alongside colleagues in the fabrication department to plan, prepare, and execute the fabrication of high-quality components.
MIG weld aluminum or stainless steel in flat, vertical, or horizontal positions at a certified level.
TIG weld aluminum or stainless steel in flat, vertical, or horizontal positions at a certified level.
Set up and operate welding machines with proficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints with accuracy.
Operate manufacturing equipment and tools, including:
Saws, shears, brake press, grinders, sanders, beveling tools, riveting tools, and rollers.
Leak testing, pressure testing, and LN2 shock testing.
Perform material preparation and fit-up.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Consistent and reliable work ethic.
Ability to follow instructions carefully.
High attention to detail.
Vocational high school diploma or equivalent in metal fabrication.
26 years of manufacturing experience (preferably in metal fabrication).
Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to pass employer performance tests or meet certification standards of governmental, professional, or technical associations.
Ability to travel up to 10% to customer sites.
Must be able to wear PPE including safety shoes, goggles, hoods with protective lenses, and other protective gear.
Regularly required to stand; frequently use hands to handle tools or controls; climb or balance; occasionally walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs; frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Regular exposure to vibration; occasional work near moving mechanical parts, at heights, and with potential electrical shock risk.
Work environment noise level is usually very loud.
