Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Weld, repair, and remanufacture transmission components using MIG/TIG processes.

This position requires the ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, technical drawings, and procedure manuals to ensure components are welded and repaired to company quality standards. While performing the duties of this job, the Welder is regularly required to stand for extended periods and must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Prior manufacturing and welding experience is required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG, TIG, spot, or other welding processes as required to repair and remanufacture transmission and torque converter components.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications to determine welding requirements.Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.Inspect welded assemblies and components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.Grind, clean, and prepare surfaces before and after welding operations.Identify and report defects, equipment issues, or quality concerns.Maintain production goals while ensuring the highest levels of quality and accuracy.Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment.Work closely with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to resolve production and quality issues.Assist with process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and product quality.Other duties as assigned.CompetenciesContinuously strives to improve welding skills and technical knowledge.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in all work performed.Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Maintains productivity standards while meeting quality expectations.Effectively prioritizes tasks and manages time efficiently.Follows through on commitments and completes assignments on time.Works well independently and as part of a team.Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Consistently follows safety and security procedures.Supports departmental and organizational goals and values.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous welding experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment required.Experience with MIG and TIG welding preferred.Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers is a plus.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
